Holiday in Cornwall

5 Reasons to Holiday in Cornwall

1- Beaches: arguably some of the best surfing beaches in the world; English National Surfing Championships will be held at Newquay’s Fistral Beach this year. It’s not all about surfing though. Cornwall boasts some of the most dramatic coast lines in the country. Porthcurnow, three miles southeast of Land’s End, is a gloriously unspoilt beach, hugged by craggy cliffs, has fine white sand made from millennia of sea shells being ground down and is just one example of the county’s greatest beaches.

2 – Heritage: The words Cornwall and English Heritage are almost synonymous with each other. From the magic and mysticism of King Arthur’s Tintagel to majesty of St Mawes Castle the best-preserved of Henry VIII’s coastal artillery fortresses, and the most elaborately decorated of them all. Your Cornish holiday would not be complete without a little taste of the rich history this county preserves.

3 – Walking:  There are hundreds of fascinating walks and places to explore in Cornwall.  Walking in Cornwall is one of the most popular activities for residents and holiday home owners alike. From inland paths which explore the moors and mining history of the county, to coastal walks and cliff top footpaths, there is always plenty to see and do.

4 – Attractions: The people of Cornwall are very fortunate to house some exciting and engaging attractions. These awesome days out cater for people of all ages. We have Crealy Adventure Park for children and families and there are many heritage sites, Lanhydrock for example, for those interested in history. The Eden Project is an example of one of those attractions which appeals to all ages.

5 – Food: Some of the UK’s top chefs (some of whom are Michelin starred) have developed eateries in Cornwall. From Jamie Oliver’s 15 in Newquay to Rick Stein’s seafood delicacies in Padstow, you will never be short of choices to satiate your taste buds.
